About the Artists:
Radcliffe Bailey is a painter, sculptor, and mixed media artist who utilizes the layering of imagery, culturally resonant materials and text to explore themes of ancestry, race, migration and collective memory. His work often incorporates found materials and objects from his past into textured compositions, including traditional African sculpture, tintypes of his family members, ships, train tracks and Georgia red clay.
Olabayo Olaniyi hails from a royal family and a long line of artists and performers from Oshogbo, Nigeria. He has been apprenticed as an artist, drummer, and dancer in Nigeria since his youth. He received his BFA from the College of Santa Fe and his MFA at the University of Iowa. He has written, directed, and produced his own Yoruba theatre, and has seen great success in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Nigeria.
Timothy Short is a narrative painter who builds imaginative, atmospheric works centering on the Black figure. Upon moving to Atlanta in 2011, Timothy pursued painting and drawing at Georgia State University. He obtained a BFA in Visual Art and Design with a minor in African-American Studies in 2015.
